Do you know how to speak so that Someone will listen during a tense conversation?

One of the hardest skills, to learn, implement and frankly get used to as a boss, is having those hard conversations that we all must have as business owners. This can be especially difficult if you run a small business. Small businesses tend to be more of a community and the people often do things together socially outside of the office.

Do some pre-framing – don’t bury the lead, if it is going to be a hard conversation tell them, this is hard for me to talk about, I’m not sure how you feel about it, but here goes. (remember – don’t tell anyone else how they feel, that is theirs and theirs alone just like no one can tell you how you feel about something.
